Q) What is the SilkyTone Skin Smoothing System?
A) SilkyTone is a personal, motorized dermabrasion unit that effectively exfoliates and deep cleans the skin surface. You can view details and a diagram on our About page.

Q) How does it work?
A) By vibrating a fine, mildly abrasive bar at up to 6000 cycles per minute, dead cells are removed from the skin surface, allowing new cells to grow.

Q) What are the "Smoothing Bars" made of?
A) The interchangeable Cosme-Pads (smoothing bars) are made of high-grade corundum (Aluminum Oxide), a material commonly used for cosmetic dermabrasion.

Q) Why are the Cosme-Pads different colors?
A) Each SilkyTone system includes an assortment of vitamin enriched, scented Cosme-Pads suitable for various skin types. There are two of each: white, yellow, rose, lavender, and green.

WHITE (Unmedicated): For general exfoliation.

YELLOW (Lemon scented): Enriched with Vitamin A to soften coarse skin and soothe irritated acne-prone skin.

ROSE (Scent of White Rose): Contains Vitamin E oil to stimulate new cell growth and rejuvenate the skin.

LAVENDER (Lavender scented): The anti-oxidant properties of Vitamin C work to help prevent premature aging of the skin.

GREEN (Eucalyptus scented): Rich with bioceramide, this bar encourages moisture retention and forms a barrier to protect the skin.

Q) How are the Cosme-Pads replaced?
A) Simply loosen the locking knob at the tip of the SilkyTone unit and insert any Cosme-Pad whenever you wish.

Q) How long is each facial treatment?
A) Typically, only 1-2 minutes of application for each area of the face will produce gentle exfoliation. To treat the whole face (10 areas) takes 10-20 minutes.

Q) How often should I use the SilkyTone?
A) Normally, you can treat once per week, depending upon your skin type. Individuals with sensitive skin may exfoliate less often to avoid overtreatment.

Q) How long do the Cosme-Pads last?
A) The surface of a Cosme-Pad can be used for one complete facial treatment. Since each pad has 6 surfaces, you can use a single Cosme-Pad for up to 6 treatment sessions.

Q) How will my skin look immediately after treatment?
A) It is normal for the skin to be slightly red or flushed for a short time after treatment since you are exfoliating dead skin cells. Avoid exposure to the sun after use and do not apply to damaged or overly sensitive skin. Visit our More Info page for additional tips.
